I also recently started to use a service called Dropbox that allows me to share files between all of the company phones and computers, so if Janet takes a photo with her phone then I have access to it and can post it here without any messing about.  It allows me to do other stuff as well.

So all in all its been a good week for technology.

I did not have anything to do with it myself but I thought it would be a very interesting thing to put onto my blog.  I mean how often do you see a huge model of a ship floating in the air.

Balloons at the Malmaison Belfast

We just did a quick delivery to the Malmaison hotel in Belfast.  It was a last minute booking from a good client, she had been invited to a Hen Night party and wanted a little bit of decoration in the room.

The photo isn’t very good as the lighting in the hotel restaurant is a bit weird, all downlighters. 

The Malmaison can be a bit of a pain to work at as the parking is awful, just a few on-street spaces outside and a loading bay that traffic wardens seem to see as fair game.  The next nearest parking seems to be miles away, so I always seem to be driving around looking for spaces

Photos on balloons are a great way to convey a message or emotion to its viewer. Anytime you see a balloon it seems to bring out a smile and happy memory. Many times a balloon is thought of as a party decoration, but it can be much more than that.

Why do people use balloons in the first place? It’s usually to bring attention to something or someone. In a business setting, balloons can indicate a grand opening or a big sale. Balloons can say a lot just by looking at them. Sometimes there are words imprinted on the balloon to display a very specific message.

If you entered a car dealership and saw a balloon that said, “Get Free Maintenance With Every Purchase”, would you be interested? You probably would be. Plus, you didn’t even hear that message from a salesperson. One simple phrase on a balloon already brought you one step closer to making a purchase.

Now imagine the possibilities by placing photos on balloons. Sometimes images can speak volumes without the use of words. Here’s an idea; your son is having a graduation party and you’re in charge of decorations. Why not line the entry into your home with a balloon timeline of his life. Each balloon can have a photo image of your son from infancy to teenage years. As your guests walk through, they’ll be presented with photos at the different stages of the proud graduates life. No words are necessary.

If you’re a business looking to promote a product or sale, you can use the same ideas for your customers. It’s all about creativity and having fun. Sometimes just one single thing that stands out in a customer’s mind will be all you need to close a sale. If you can differentiate yourself from the competition, then you may directly profit from that. Something as simple as photos on ballons can be a factor that makes a customer remember you over the competition.

One of the questions we are asked regularaly is if Icover specific areas, like Dublin, Ireland, Coleraine, Newtownabbey, Galway,

Manchester, even New Zealand.  Well the answer isn’t totally straight forward, or rater it is straightforward but quite often not the answer people are hoping for, the answer is yes, if you pay me enough

It really also depends on the product or service you want us to supply;

Iif it is just printed balloons then we usually send them out with a courier or in the mail, so they can be sent pretty much anywhere at a reasonable cost, at the time of writing (14th January 2012) it will cost £5.00 to send up to 5000 balloons to anywhere in Northern Ireland, or £7.50 to anywhere in the South of Ireland, the rest of the UK will cost up to £17.50 depending on quantity.  We also post out to the rest of the world at the normal Royal Mail/Courier rates.

We do prefer to use delivery services which are trackable and preferably next day, you just wouldn’t believe how often people phone us up telling us their package hasn’t arrived and when we check it was delivered that morning or the day before, we are usually able to tell them the time that their printed balloons were delivered and who signed for them.

If on the other hand it is for balloon decor or a balloon delivery then we have to do the delivery ourselves and this will obviously be reflected in the price, in the local Newtownabbey area after 9:30 am it will cost £5.00, but if you want us to deliver to Cork for 8:30 in the morning then that will cost a lot.

I once had a client insist that I give her a price for doing balloon decor for her daughters wedding in Manchester, she didn’t realise that Google searches will give you results for companies that are outside your area, it actually took a bit of convincing that I was serious that the delivery charge would be in excess of £500.00

Generally most of our balloon decor jobs would be within a radius of about 50 miles from Newtownabbey, but if you need help in finding a company in a particular area then please give us a call and we’ll do our best to help as we have lots of contacts all over the country.

Oh, I nearly forgot, the job in New Zealand was for a balloon Bouquet to be delivered to an address in North Island, we were able to help the client by contacting a professional balloon company in New Zealand who were able to complete the job to the delight of the recipient.
